He was released on R1 000 bail and is due to appear in the Empangeni Magistrate’s Court on 11 June.

Initial police reports compiled by King Cetshwayo police cluster spokesperson, Captain Mbongeni Mdlalose, stated that Myeni was arrested for officiating at a wedding ceremony in eNseleni.

But after publication of the story it was discovered that Myeni’s case was confused with that of a pastor and wedding guests being arrested during an illegal wedding ceremony, an incident which gained national news headlines.

The pastor who officiated at the wedding will also make his second court appearance on 11 June.
