Jozini protest spreads, affecting N2 between Mtubatuba and Hluhluwe

Rioting has been ongoing since Sunday

REPORTS have been received that the protests that has shut down Jozini since Sunday has spread, affecting Manguzi, Mbazwana, Bhambanana as well as the N2 between Mfekayi (north of Mtubatuba) and Hluhluwe.

Earlier today (Thursday), via comments on the DriveMoz Facebook page, motorists were urged to not use the Kosi Bay border post as rioters were halfway between Hluhluwe and Mbazwana.

Sodwana Bay has reportedly been cut off owing to the riots, and Jozini is still shut down.

Subsequent reports state that the Charters Creek entrance to the iSimangaliso Wetland Park has been blocked and that there was a lot of debris on the N2 at Mfekayi, about 10km north of Mtubatuba.

Public Order Policing units are on the scene at the various riot sites.
