Water levels still critical

DESPITE good rains over the last few weeks, Zululand’s dams are still low with minimal improvements in the water levels.

As at Monday, 4 December the Goedertrouw Dam was at 34% of its full storage capacity.

This is, however, still much better than last year when the dam was only at 19.4%.

The Klipfontein Dam outside Vryheid was at 41.3% compared to 7.5% last year.

The Pongolapoort Dam has dropped slightly with 35.3% compared to 35.6% the previous week and 37.9% last year.

Residents are encouraged to continue to use water sparingly.
