MY STORY: Sex addiction ruined my life

Local man seeks help concerning his sex addiction

IT has been said men think about sex every seven seconds.

Even though this unlikely theory has not yet been proven by professionals, an Empangeni man has come out and revealed how sex images ‘circle his brain’ almost every minute of the day.

Malume (37) recently confessed to the Zululand Observer how his sex addiction and compulsive behaviour has ruined his family and work life.

‘When I was young I used to be shy and couldn’t talk to girls. My friends used to be out there and had girlfriends very early.

‘I didn’t understand anything about sex until I was 17 years old,’ said Malume.

‘Before having my first sexual experience, I had already developed fantasies in my head and sex started being an obsession.

‘I thought it would fade away, but as I grew older the obsession grew and I started visiting porn sites hourly.

‘I spend hundreds of precious hours of my life going from one image to the next and I’m addicted to it.’

According to Malume, when he started working during his early 20s he used all his money to lure girls to his bed, making all his fantasies a reality.

‘I used my earning to get girls and if I couldn’t get someone, I would visit a brothel and pay for sex. Sex workers became my new addiction.’
