Zululanders recognised at Stellenbosch University

Two Zululanders have been awarded academic honours colours by the Tygerberg campus of Stellenbosch University for maintaining distinctions in their average marks over the course of their studies

TWO Zululanders have been awarded academic honours colours by the Tygerberg campus of Stellenbosch University for maintaining distinctions in their average marks over the course of their studies.
Both final year Occupational Therapy students, Suzanne du Toit of Mtunzini is a former Grantleigh headgirl who scored 7 As in matric, while Esté Louw of Hluhluwe, a former headgirl at Felixton College, scored 9 As in matric.
Louw received the highest average marks of all the final year students in the Faculty of Health Sciences.
She hopes to work in a rural hospital in the uMkhanyakude District next year for her community service year.
‘What a privilege to have the prospect of serving the community,’ Louw said. At the award ceremony in Cape Town, the faculty dean said in his 24 years at the university, this was the highest average marks he had seen.
