THERE is great expectation ahead of the first NFD fixture for Richards Bay FC when they take on Real Kings at the uMhlathuze Stadium on Sunday at 3pm.
Head coach Roger Sikhakhane has dismissed the thought of his team slowly picking up the pace before having ideas of winning the league.
‘There is no three-year plan. I don’t have time to waste. We will be going all out to take the title this year,’ he said at Tuesday’s practice session.
‘Although there is a bit of flu in the camp at the moment, we will field a strong side with some excellent new additions among our squad of 26.

‘We know how to win. The first step is to concede as few goals as possible, and our defence will be up to it.
‘Obviously we need to score goals as well, and to gain the maximum possible number of points in the first half of the season, before injuries, tiredness and suspensions take effect.’
Sikhakhane said he would put no pressure on the Natal Rich Boyz to keep an unblemished home record, as Thanda did last season.
‘We are going to play the way we have always played and the results will come.’
Tuesday’s training session saw great emphasis being placed on speed, accuracy of passing and good, quick distribution.
