Jo Black to rock the Dolos Festival

His first single, Skepe, has gone viral, with more than one million views on YouTube since its release in November last year

Jo Black is one of the top artists booked for this year’s Dolos Festival.

His first single, Skepe, has gone viral, with more than one million views on YouTube since its release in November last year.

Jo’s actual claim to fame, however, is his Be That Guy movement, an initiative that has seen him visiting more than 150 schools across South Africa to spread a message of standing up for what is right and living according to one’s moral values.

Sharing the stage with Jo at this year’s Dolos Festival are celebrated artists such as Franja du Plessis, Brendan Peyper, Bobby van Jaarsveld and Majozi.

Besides an awesome line-up of some of South Africa’s favourite artists, there will be a lot of fun activities, such as canoeing, angling and swimming competitions, body boarding lessons and the Miss Dolos Festival beauty pageant.

Come and enjoy the slip-and-slides, horse riding on the beach, or browse the large variety of stalls.

There will be a children’s tent where kids will be kept busy with face painting, cupcake decorating, colouring-in and a Dolos building challenge from 10am to 4pm.

From 5pm until 11pm, there will be a baby-sitting facility inside the children’s tent, facilitated by Stepping Stones.

This will give mom and dad a chance to enjoy all their favourite artists on stage, as well as the after-party featuring some of Richard’s Bay best vocalists.

The Dolos Festival takes place at Alkantstrand from 22 to 24 September.
