LISTEN: Another business robbery in Empangeni
Public should be on the lookout for a white VW GTI with the registration number NRB 52832 which was used as the getaway vehicle
MTN Empangeni fell victim to an armed robbery this morning.
A number of suspects are said to have entered the store at the Absa building at 50 Maxwell Street shortly before 10am.
A witness to the robbery said a white VW GTI with registration number NRB 52832 was used as the getaway vehicle.
According to a source, this is the second time the store has been held up.
Last year they were robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash, however quick action by Empangeni SAPS led to the arrest of the suspects shortly afterwards.
On Monday two people were treated for shock and a pregnant woman taken to hospital following a robbery at American Swiss in Sanlam Centre.
