THE 28-year-old victim of an alleged armed robbery has opened a case at the Richards Bay Police Station after she was held up at gunpoint at a Maphelane beach, south of St Lucia.
The incident occurred at about 3pm on Friday. According to police reports, the complainant was at the beach with her husband and family when three unknown suspects approached her.
At gunpoint, they ordered her to hand over her belongings. The victim’s husband’s firearm was among the items reportedly stolen. A case of robbery common will be transferred to Mtubatuba Police Station for further investigation.
