RICHARDS Bay police officers are investigating a case of attempted murder after four suspects stormed the house of a Mzingazi man last weekend.
The incident occurred at about 11pm on Saturday. According to the police report, the victim was asleep when he awoke to the sound of his door being broken down.
Four armed suspects threatened him with a firearm and demanded property before shooting him. The victim was rushed to Ngwelezana Hospital for treatment.
Two other cases of assault are under investigation at Richards Bay SAPS after two separate incidents occurred in Mzingazi at the weekend. In one case at 5pm on Saturday, two men drinking got into a fight and one was assaulted.
In the second case a man was hit over the head with a beer bottle after being accused of irresponsible driving at 2pm on Saturday. A case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm was opened.
