‘You move, you make a noise and you’re dead’

Quick work by police led to the arrest of one of the suspects that same evening

TWO women were held hostage for almost an hour while two suspects stole a number of household goods and a brand new vehicle from an Aurora Cresent home in Empangeni on Wednesday afternoon.

However, quick action by police led to the arrest of one of the suspects and the recovery of the silver Toyota Corolla that same evening.

A 39-year-old suspect was caught in possession of the vehicle in Dondotha by members of KwaMbonambi SAPS.

Speaking to the ZO on condition of anonymity, the 81-year-old homeowner said on the day she had an appointment with a property agent as she is in the process of selling her home and relocating.

‘I was standing at my gate saying goodbye to the agent. Suddenly a man appeared from behind the vehicle and made his way to the driver’s side.
