WATCH: Heavy rains and flooded roads in Richards Bay

HEAVY rains have caused wide spread flooding in many parts of Zululand.
Hundreds of millimeters of rainfall has been recorded since it started raining on Friday, and by the looks of things, it will possibly carry on raining into tomorrow (Monday).
The City of uMhlathuze disaster teams have been hard at work evacuating community members at risk of being affected by localized floods.
The city issued out a statement this afternoon:
‘More than 200 people have been evacuated from uMzingwenya, Dube Village and Port Dunford.
‘Few cases are reported at eNseleni and Mandlanzini.
‘Some roads in Alton, and John Ross H’way(Foskor side to Mpangeni) are now completely closed.
‘Evacuated people are assisted in Hlanganani, eSikhaleni Library and New Hall.
‘Food and blankets are being organised for tonight.
‘Teams are urging community members to cooperate with evacuation orders,’ it read.
The ZO will be visiting families that have been affected by flooding and will keep you updated with rainfall figures throughout the week.
