WATCH: Family and friends said a final farewell to the young motorcyclist who recently died in Meerensee

'Until we ride the golden highway together again'

MORE than 300 mourners on Saturday congregated at Outlook Church in Birdswood to celebrate the life of Wiebke Venske, who tragically died following a motorbike accident in Meerensee.

The 24-year-old Richards Bay local matriculated from John Ross College in 2010 before studying towards, and gaining, a BCom degree in accounting through UNISA.
Wiebke worked at the Richards Bay Oncology centre.

An avid motorcyclist and a club co-ordinator, Wiebke belonged to the No Rules Motorcycle Club since 2003.

Over 300 mourners congregated at Outlook Church in Richards Bay for the funeral of Wiebke Venske

Fellow club members and local bikers escorted the hearse through the streets of Richards Bay before Saturday’s memorial service.

‘Wiebke was loved by everyone near and far, and will always be remembered by his smile,’ said his sister Nicolene.

Biker brother Cowboy dedicated a poem, entitled ‘The Last Ride’, to Wiebke.

‘Thanks to everyone for their prayers, cards, phone calls and emails on the death of my brother. I cannot mention all the wonderful people who responded, but would like to mention all the bikers from near and far and the many, many friends and loved ones.

‘Our family feels so humbled to be remembered in such an outstanding way at this very difficult time. Thanks from the bottom of our hearts and God bless each of you.’
