Truck collides with vehicle bring Empangeni's main road to a standstill

TRAFFIC came to a halt on Empangeni’s main road at the Central Park intersection a short while ago when a truck heading towards Richards Bay lost control, toppling over and plummeting into a car carrying two passengers.

The female driver of the car, who we are told works for the Empangeni Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS), sustained critical injuries and her colleague minor injuries.

The truck driver sustained moderate injuries.

Traffic officials are diverting traffic as the scene is still active.

Motorists are advised to use President Swart and Paul Avenue as alternative routes to get into the Empangeni CBD.
