A RELATIVELY minor drug offence literally led to bigger fish to fry when Meerensee CPF and SAPS members uncovered a serious illegal fish trading activity this (Thursday) morning.
Searching the refrigerated bakkie used by the drug suspect and his companions, they uncovered numerous fish stored in ice for transportation to Durban.
The fish, allegedly bought from a skiboat owner, comprised a number of species which may not be legally traded in.
In the video, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife District Conservation Manager – Frans Mthembu and his team sort out the fish in preparation of a court docket which will list a number of contraventions.
