Regional taxi awards ready to roll out
The voting for Ubunye Region Taxi Association has started
FOLLOWING the recent launch of a locally inspired national taxi road safety campaign, the South African National Taxi Council (Santaco) is ready to host the Regional Taxi Awards.
The prestigious event will be held at Umfolozi Casino Resort in Empangeni on Sunday, 26 June.
The purpose is to award best drivers, marshals, taxi owners and associations within Ubunye Region.
It is part of the North Coast Group (NCG) initiative to promote hard work, good ethics, customer care and professionalism in the industry.
‘We have already checked local associations including eSikhawini and Ngwelezane, but now it is time to spread the initiative to other parts of the region and to the national level,’ said NCG Chairperson Lindiwe Dube.
Voters will judge 16 associations around the region.
Commuters have chance to vote in categories including Best Driver, Best Association, Cleanest Driver and Best Taxi Rank.
Stickers with the voting information are already available in all taxis operating in the region.
Commuters can SMS the the category and their choice to 45786.
