Successful Cansa fundraiser raises over R100 000

Golfers, driven by their passion for the sport and compassion for a noble cause, unite at the Witbank Golf Club for the 2023 Highveld Sages CANSA Day, raising a remarkable R100 000 for the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA)

In a striking display of community spirit and dedication, the Highveld Sages set the stage for philanthropy and golfing excellence during the much-anticipated 2023 Highveld Sages Cansa Day.
The event was held at Witbank Golf Club on Thursday, October 12 with 116 golfers who shared their passion for the sport and a commitment to raising funds and awareness for the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa).
One of the stand-out features of the day was the presence of Cansa’s representative, Andries du Preez, who offered attendees skin health checks, emphasising the importance of early detection and care.
The event’s tremendous success was made possible by the generosity of sponsors and the enthusiasm of the participants.

Together, they managed to surpass all expectations by raising a staggering amount exceeding R100 000 to support Cansa’s invaluable work.

Andries also shared his thoughts on the event, stating, “The Highveld Sages Cansa Day has been a remarkable showcase of community unity in the face of a critical cause. The skin health checks were well-received, and the funds raised will undoubtedly bolster our mission to combat cancer. We are deeply appreciative of this support, and it is heart-warming to see how this community has rallied behind Cansa’s mission.”

This event wasn’t just about golf; it was a collective effort to give back to the community.

Sponsors played a vital role in making the event a success, and the lucky draw winners, Laverne Rogers and Schalk du Plessis added an element of excitement by going home with enticing prizes.
The golf tournament itself was marked by fierce competition, with four teams standing out as winners and receiving well-deserved recognition for their exceptional performance. Here are the winning teams:
1. Johan Coetzee, Jaco Coetzee, Anton Baneman, and Trevor secured the top position with an impressive 99 points.
2. Cedric Bartlett, Sarie Fourie, Tersia Basson, and Chrisjan Basson claimed the second spot with 93 points.
