Thieves leave victim flat after stealing rims and tyres in Uthingo Park

The police allegedly closed the case due to lack of evidence.

A male victim (38) woke up to the shock of his life when he discovered that his vehicle was stripped.

The victim was at his home in Uthingo Park on Sunday, August 20.

“On Monday I woke up at around 05:25 and I saw my car balanced on bricks without tyres and rims,” said the victim.

He went on to say that is when he immediately called the police and to his surprise, it was a quick response.

The victim described the procedure he underwent with the police as surprising, “They arrived on the day to take my statement and proceeded to ask if there was anyone that I am suspecting,” he said.

The following day on Tuesday, August 22 the 38-year-old victim said, the police returned to take fingerprints for laboratory testing.

A Nissan NP200 was stripped of its tyres and rims and left to balance on bricks in Uthingo Park.

On Wednesday, August 23 he allegedly received a call from the police who informed him that the case would be closed as there was not sufficient information and no suspects.

 

“I was shocked and surprised to learn that because I had assumed that they would wait for the fingerprints before making any decisions,” the victim cried.

In closing, he mentioned that he no longer feels safe and felt let down by the police who he believes stopped the investigation for malicious intentions.

A Nissan NP200 was stripped of its tyres and rims whilst parked, and left to balance on bricks in Uthingo Park.
