Robbers out and about before chickens cluck

Another business robbery was reported in eMalahleni this morning

No arrests have been made in connection to the armed robbery that took place at the premises of Mica Hardware store early this morning.

It is suspected at around 05:20 a white Quantum taxi with an unknown number of suspects approached two security officers at the shopping centre, where the store is located.

Micas Hardware store door was broken by intruders.

Mr Philip Redl, one of the owners at the hardware store mentioned that although he is grateful for no injuries or fatalities to the staff and security, he is concerned as they have all safety measures in place to prevent robberies but nothing seems to stop the robbers.

“We are grateful the incident took place after operating business hours and none of the staff members were put in harm’s way. I am worried that we are fast approaching Christmas time, how can we ensure the safety of our staff and customers?” Redl asked.

It s alleged that the robbers stole a lot of power tools from the hardware store which led the owner to believe the robbery was premeditated as suspects knew what they wanted and where to find it.
