Whether you are still working from home or have returned to the office, juggling life during pandemic times is not easy…and it’s normal to feel overwhelmed and find yourself heading into burnout. Get your life back on track and take control of your workload with these easy tips from The Human Edge and VitalSmarts:

Dump your brain onto paper

If your mind is swirling and you have a million things to remember, you will just end up feeling more stressed. Rather take a few minutes to jot down a list of everything you need to get done. This will help calm your mind and collect your thoughts.

Create a plan of action

Take a good look at your to-do list and write down notes for the items that are stressing you out to help you define how you are going to get them ticked off. Think about what you need to do in order to get each item done? Write down the steps you need to take to give the work lying ahead a clear structure.

Do, decline and renegotiate

Look at your list and be realistic about what you need to get done. You cannot do everything…and that is ok. Using three different colours, mark next to each item what you’ll do, what you’ll decline and what you’ll renegotiate (such as a deadline extension or postponing plans you had with others). Then go back and decline more!
