How to declutter your bathroom in three steps

Clear out, clean up and give your bathroom a fresh feel this summer.

Products you’ve never used, but swore you needed, expired medicine, broken hair clips and that foot spa you bought ten years ago that’s still in its original packaging – all of these things and more find a way into your bathroom cabinets. Tackle this space and start afresh this summer with these three decluttering tips:

Expired or not?

Start by going through everything in the cabinet and check the expiry dates. Whatever is expired must go. Sort through the non-expired products and ask yourself if you have used the item in the last 6 months. If not, set them aside to be given or thrown away. Repack the products that are still good and in use with the “nearly expired” items in the front and the “good for a while” products at the back.

Organise according to seasons

Bring summer into your bathroom! Pack away those winter bath bombs and intensive body creams and store them until autumn comes around. Same goes for your fragrances. Swap out your deodorant for an antiperspirant and go for a floral or fruity perfume scent for a happy, summer mood. Check out the Shower to Shower range of summery scents including one called ‘Happy Days’ in bright yellow packaging – it smells and looks like summer!

Clean and clear

Get into the habit of keeping your bathroom counters clean and free from hairbrushes, toothpaste and last minute make-up touch-up products. Buy a clear, stackable storage box to keep those go-to items within reach, yet stored away neatly. Having clean counters creates a more peaceful environment and a spa-like feel.
