A powerful prayer for unity in eMalahleni

Members of the community sat in their cars, prayed and enjoyed the music that was played.

Residents of eMalahleni gathered for a short prayer morning to protect and unite the community.

The prayer was held at Witbank High School on July 18 where people came in to pray against the drugs, looting and other social issues faced in eMalahleni.

Lewende Woord Witbank church hosted the drive-in prayer session where pastors from other churches joined.

Members of the community sat in their cars, prayed and enjoyed the music that was played.

The Executive Mayor, Cllr Linah Malatjie also joined the prayer, and mention that she is declaring eMalahleni the City of God. She mentioned that the community is currently fighting against drug abuse and several parts of the city are being cleaned up.

Other testimonies came as the prayer session proceeded, where a young girl who is also a scholar at Witbank High School is recovering from drug abuse.

Gui Hodgson, a member at Lewende Woord said that he is happy that the community came together to fight against the looting in the past week.

“I believe that through prayer, we can bring the light into the city and show that Jesus Christ is the hope of the world,” Gui added.
