Audi Q7 SUV receives major revamp and it’s now available in Mzansi

The Audi Q7 is now currently available for sale at all Audi Dealerships in South Africa.

Audi South Africa is introducing its refreshed Q7 model range that now features the new design of the latest Q family of SUVs.

Speaking of the exterior changes, the facelifted Audi Q7 follows the same design elements of the brand’s latest products such as a large octagon-shaped single-frame grille with six upright slats.

The headlights come with an optional Matrix LED technology while the rear now features a chrome strip that connects the rear lights.

Offered in two trims, standard and S line, the latter comes with enhanced exterior accents such as a blade in the front bumper, a radiator grille in titanium black with vertical slats in aluminium sliver matte, sportily accentuated underbody protection at the rear along with full paint finish, high gloss package, roof rails in aluminium and 20-inch wheels which come standard.

The new Audi Q7 spawns optimized all‑wheel steering allows the rear wheels to turn as much as five degrees in the opposite direction.

A sole 3.0-litre diesel engine gets the job done and churns out 183 kW and 600 Nm of torque.

It is coupled to an eight-speed tiptronic and permanent all‑wheel drive. It accelerates the large SUV from a standstill to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 225 km/h.

Speaking of dimensions, the refreshed Audi Q7 is now 5 063 mm long, 1 970 mm wide and 1 741 mm high when compared with the outgoing model.

The boot space is measured at 865 litres and depending on the position of the rear seatbacks the luggage compartment on the five-seater version offers between 865 and 2 050 litres of capacity – the latter with a flat load area. An electric tailgate is standard including foot-activated gesture control.

Audi optionally supplies the rear seat bench plus as part of the Comfort Package; all three seats can be moved individually fore/aft and the backrest angle adjusted, upgradable to a third seat row with two electrically lowerable seats which turns the Q7 into a 7-seater.

Also, there are two large touchscreens.

The infotainment system is fitted with the brand’s MMI Navigation Plus with an embedded sim, Wif-Fi hotspot voice control while additional functionality can be accessed via the MyAudi app.

A virtual Cockpit comes standard while a head-up display comes at an added charge.

Convenient equipment options include four-zone automatic air conditioning (standard), a power-assist function to close the doors quietly and the Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium Sound System.

The refreshed Audi Q7 can be had in three packages; Comfort, Black styling and S line interior.

Within each package, the structure is a few options suited to the particular proposition.

Both models come standard with the 5 year / 100 000km Audi Freeway Plan, inclusive of all taxes.
