13-year old murdered in Klarinet

As the stress levels are running high with the ongoing lockdown regulations the murder of the young Keitumetse Keggen Malefahlo made the emotions of this once safe community ran even higher.

The senseless murder of a 13-year old left the community of Klarinet speechless as a cloud of death hangs above the community.

As the stress levels are running high with the ongoing lockdown regulations the murder of the young Keitumetse Keggen Malefahlo made the emotions of this once safe community ran even higher.

It was reported that in the early hours of May 19 that Keitumetse was fast asleep when two robbers got access to the house.

“They entered the house by breaking open the safety gate and in this time Keitumetse woke up from the commotion and saw the robbers. He then ran back to his room and locked the door,” Keitumetse’s uncle, Mr Sam Masilela told WITBANK NEWS on the scene.

Malefahlo was home alone at the time of the incident as his mother had to work a night shift at a local mine.

It was alleged that while Keitumetse was locked in his room the robbers started to carry out all the things they wanted to steal before they went back in the house and broke open the door of where the boy was hiding.

“As they entered his room they started suffocating him and then killed him. These men were known to the boy because why would they kill a harmless child,” a bystander interrupted the interview.

The neighbour that dispatched the security to the scene said that a scream may have been the reason why the robbers killed the boy as it is believed that they started panicking before fleeing the scene.

Langamed Ambulance Services arrived at the scene where they declared the boy died because of a fatal wound to his chest.

During all this chaos a security company, Buffalotlou Security that was busy patrolling the street got a call out about the house robbery that is still in progress.

“We rushed to the scene where a neighbour showed us that the two suspects ran into a nearby field and we started chasing them,” said the owner, Deudance Sibande.

As for the single mother that has just lost her only son, the silence told the whole story about this meaningless murder.

The station commander of Witbank Brigadier Lindane Ndlovu said the police will not tolerate the killing of children in the community by robbers who wants to enrich themselves by robbing and killing innocent people.

”The police will work around the clock to make sure that these ruthless criminals are arrested and account for their criminal behaviour.”

Brigadier Ndlovu requested the community of eMalahleni to assist the police with any information regarding the murder in contacting the investigating officer Sergeant Levias Rangwaga on 072 737 2003 or the National Crime Stop number 0860010111 or the National Crime SMS number 32211.
