Johnny Walker visits The Ridge

The Ridge spoiled some of their valued guests on Friday, April 20 with a superb whiskey tasting and food pairing.

The words of British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill echoe through ones mind and it is as if he was speaking about eMalahleni’s water when he said,

“The water was not fit to drink. To make it palatable, we had to add whisky. By diligent effort, I learned to like it.”

The Ridge spoiled some of their valued guests on Friday, April 20 with a superb whiskey tasting and food pairing.

The tasting and pairing was hosted by Johnny Walker brand ambassador, Reginald Mthembu.

Reginald shared some interesting facts with the guests who were ecstatic about the taste of the Aged 18 Years.

“Originally introduced as Platinum Label, the Aged 18 Years was introduced to replace the original Gold Label in the Asian market, and sold alongside Gold Label Reserve. Though still available around the globe, the Platinum Label name was discontinued in mid-2017 and replaced by Johnnie Walker Aged 18 Years,” he said.

Reginald encouraged the guests to have whiskey on the rocks first, and then try the next sip with a block of ice and for a whole new taste experience, a dash of water.

“Your pallet will guide to as to where home is,” he said.
