Jak sings for Nicolette

Last year, September, Nicolette Horn fell ill and was diagnosed with stage four liver cancer.
Her husband lost his job at Highveld in 2015/2016 and they don’t have a medical aid currently.
In November she had a full hysterectomy at Steve Biko hospital, as they suspected that this was the origin of her liver cancer. Her condition unfortunately deteriorated a lot after the surgery and the government hospital is not very keen to help Nicolette with chemotherapy.
“We got her some help through a private oncologist and she started her first chemotherapy on February 14. The medical costs are expensive and we thus decided to establish a fundraising project for her medical expenses. The project is administrated by our director Dick Jacobs and he has made available an account which we administer on a daily basis and for which he personally takes responsibility,” said Lourens Smit, directional leader at Vikela Road where Nicolette is employed.
The staff of Vikela Road arranged for Jak de Priester to give a show on April 14 to generate funds that will go towards Nicolette’s medical expenses.
“We appreciate every kind gesture towards this project and our aim is to give Nicolette a fair chance and the best treatment possible,” Lourens said.
Jak will be singing for Nicolette at Neo Doxa Church in Mandela Road.
Tickets are R100 each.
The show starts at 19:00.
