Overflowing with enchantment, romance and magic, Celeste Mouton School of Dance presents the fairytale ‘Sleeping beauty’.
We are all familiar with this tale by the Brothers Grimm. A little recap will set the scene. It all starts when the king and queen welcomes the fairies of their land to the christening of their only daughter, Aurora. They bestow gifts on their baby princess, grace, joy, generosity, musicality, and vivacious temperament.
Maleficent, the fairy of wisdom, has not been invited, but arrives anyway and puts a curse on the young princess. The lilac fairy softens the curse and says Aurora will not die on her 16th birthday, but will sleep for a hundred years.
The fairytale of Sleeping Beauty will be performed on October 27 and October 28 at the civic theatre.
The Celeste Mouton School of Dance will present Sleeping Beauty at the civic theatre on October 27 and 28.
They will be performing on Friday, October 27 at 18:00 and Saturday, October 28 at 13:00 and 18:00.
Tickets for Friday evening and Saturday evening’s performance are R150 per person and Saturday afternoon is R120 per person.
