Winter is in full force. We need to be warm yet still look good at the same time. If you have no idea on how to go about that, do not worry. The women of New Life Church have you covered. They are selling scarfs and bracelets in order to raise funds for New Life Children’s Home.
Women of New Life Church are selling scarfs and bracelets. Funds raised there will be given to New Life Children’s Home.
The women that started this initiative are the different bible study groups that are found at the church. The women thought of various projects to gather money for the children and this is what they came up with.
According to UNICEF, there are currently 3.9 million orphans in South Africa. Within eMalahleni, there is a need to protect and provide for orphaned children. New Life Children’s Home aims to provide a loving and caring home for children in need. They want to bring new life to those who need it most.
Proceeds from selling these beautiful bracelets will be given to New Live Children’s Home.
The scarfs and bracelets are selling for as little as R25 each. Scarfs are available in different colours such as brown, navy, turquoise, black, purple and cerise pink.
Looking beautiful in scrafs is Claudette Koch, Tammy de Oliveira and Sanele Mayisela. These scarfs are being sold to raise money for New Life Children’s Home.
Women who made the scarfs mentioned that the team had to think outside the box on what they could sell.
“You can wrap a scarf around your neck, hand and anywhere around your body as opposed to a blanket which you cannot be able to carry everywhere you go. The whole purpose of this is to raise funds for the children as they are in need,” explained Elize Joubert, one of the women who were involved in making the scarfs.
Michelle Shelver and her partner Frances Cunney made the stunning bracelets. Michelle mentioned that creating this beautiful work of art was no brainer as she loves and enjoys making jewellery.
