DJ Ntwanasi is on the move and is making things happen at Phola.
Not only is DJ Ntwanasi (Sikhumbuzo Shongwe) into music but also movies.
DJ was born at Elukwatini where he started his primary school and moved to Phola to continue with his education at Sukumani Primary School and proceeded to Mehlwana Secondary School and dropped out at Grade 11. The reason for his drop was because somebody tried to burn a house while he was inside the house and had to be admitted at the Witbank Hospital for six months.
While in hospital, DJ Ntwanasi developed a love for music, he started producing music and produced his first album in 2011 titled ‘Phola Mdoko’. He also worked with DJ Mlungu from Nelspruit.
After that he was introduced into movies, the ‘Location Bioscope’ and worked with DJ Mzi presenter of the SABC1 show called One’s and Two’s. The show presents an opportunity to young, up-and-coming deejays with new fresh beats and ideas to be exposed for South Africa to see and appreciate their talents. Through the show DJ Ntwanasi was introduced to Mzambia, Nkosinathi Zwane who introduced him to his friend Msawawa (Siboniso Dlamini). They all worked together in the Wabantu Music Company in Orange Grove in Johannesburg.

Further DJ Ntwanasi was introduced to acting in the movie ‘Secret is pain’ and acted two scenes. After that he came back home to teach other children what he had learned in Johannesburg. He worked with Pearl Modiadie, presenter of Zaziwa Show on SABC 1 in July last year, the children were introduced to acting.
In September and October he worked with Khulekani Ncube on the ‘Amahlongadlebe Phola Ogies Local Comedy show’ which was presented at SABC 1 studios. Two actors were selected from the show, JD Ntwanasi and Lungisa Maxegu. Working through their agent, the pair will be part of Rhythm City and Skeem Saam shows.
Presently DJ Ntwanasi is directing a new action movie: ‘Umhlaba Uyahlamba’ with Lungisa being helped by Pearl in writing the story.
