The “Re-branding Me” event took place at the Blue Room.

The eMalahleni South African Council for Business Women (SACBW) held their first event for the year and the intention of the event was to create awareness of the continuity of the branch and to attract new potential members.

The “Re-branding Me” event took place on Wednesday, February 15 at the Blue Room.

Over 40 women made their way to the event from different fields of business. These women were welcomed by the newly elected executive committee, then they were encouraged to connect and identify opportunities to work together to improve their businesses.

There was a lot of fun as Nomsa Mazibuko, 2016 National Runner-up shared her Business Women of the Year (BWOY) journey with the audience. For women entering the competition, mentorship will be provided every step of the way.
After Nomsa’s encouraging words, two additional speakers delivered interactive content related to branding and marketing. Carminda Swanepoel of Carminda Swanepoel photography shared the importance of Social Media images.

“A picture posted says volumes about you as a business woman. It is important to create consistency with photos posted as you build your brand,” said Carminda.

Nicci Gates of Purple Pumpkin Marketing, stressed the importance of viewing oneself as a brand.

“For a successful brand, each company needs to have a marketing strategy which simply means a business has goals to grow each year,” concluded Nicci.

The invitation requested each member to bring a can of food in addition to their event booking fee. The food collected together with Valentine goodies donated by the branch executive committee was donated to White Rose Hospice. It’s a centre for terminally-ill patients in eMalahleni.

eMalahleni branch would like to convey a special thanks to their National President, Diana Jansen for being part of this event. A special thanks to all the sponsors for the beautiful morning that was shared together.
