It’s all about love

Love is just a four letter word but it engulfs you with so many emotions.

Katharine Hepburn once quoted: “Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get, only with what you are expecting to give, which is everything”.

At the Protea Hotel by Marriott® eMalahleni Highveld, February is all about love.
They have eight days planned to celebrate this four letter word. They are kicking off their celebrations with two baking courses. Tuesday, February 7 will be dedicated to baking.

This pastry course is aimed at those who are intimidated by the mere thought of having to produce anything that includes flour and an oven. Within a few hours well known pastry chefs Nicole Pinto Goncalves and Minah Zulu will have you confident in front of the oven. Cost is R600 per class per person. There are two classes, the first at 10:00 and the second at 18:00.

Ever wondered how they manage to make those delicate little flowers on top of cakes. Here is your chance to find out just how easy it is to decorate cakes and deserts and everything yummy with a fondant course presented by Roxy van Bruwaene. This course will be held at Protea Hotel® eMalahleni Highveld on Wednesday, February 8.
Cost is R600 per class per person. There are two classes, the first at 10:00 and the second at 18:00.
If you plan to attend both these classes it will cost you R1 000, which will save you R200 which you can use to buy a little something special for the love of your life.

On Thursday, February 9 the team at Protea Hotel® eMalahleni Highveld challenge you to come and donate the gift of life, blood. This initiative will start at 09:00 at the hotel.

“We also love and adore our animals. Therefore we have decided to volunteer at the SPCA on February 10,” said Anton Waltz, Food and Beverages manager

He is inviting businesses and individuals to contribute and join in the fun.

Running out of options as to where to take your loved one for dinner? Make sure you book a table for two at Protea Hotel® eMalahleni Highveld on February 11 at 18:30 for a fabulous and romantic dinner. Cost is R250 per person and it includes a bottle of wine. Chef Langa Machika is planning a romantic fondue for each couple.

The hotel’s very famous buffet lunches will launch on Sunday, February 12. The cost is R195 per person.
On Monday, February 13 the team will be visiting Edenpark Old Age Home to spoil to elderly with a lunch to spread the love.

And then to end this week of festivities February 14 will be aimed at all the singles in the city.

“We have a Valentine’s evening with a twist planned,” said Anton.

With a theme ‘Love stinks, let’s drink’ with a kiss repellent menu one can only imagine how the evening will unfold.
