Whackhead to tickle guest’s funny-bones
The very best South African stand-up comedians are heading to The Ridge’s The Venue for an evening of fun, laughter and entertainment to leave guests on the edge of their seats.
“Featuring popular celebrity comedian, Darren ‘Whackhead’ Simpson, this show on Saturday, March 28 is definitely not to be missed,” said The Ridge Marketing Assistant Manager, Sibongile Tantsi.
Simpson has hosted 94.7 Highveld Stereo’s morning show, The Breakfast Xpress, since August 2010 and has kept listeners giggling their way through morning traffic with his telephone pranks and witty commentary.
Sibongile said, “To sweeten the deal and make the evening a well-rounded comedy showcase, Whackhead will be accompanied by two other huge South African comedy sensations, Tumi Morake and Loyiso Madinga.”
“A comedy success story in her own right, Tumi Morake has managed to keep a firm footing as one of a handful of successful female comedians on the corporate and commercial scene,” she added.
Described by City Press as 2014’s brightest new stand-up, Loyiso Madinga was selected by his peers to receive the Newcomer of the Year Award at the 2014 annual Savanna Comic’s Choice Awards.
“Recognition by industry peers can be seen as the biggest compliment and vote of confidence by far. Madinga is definitely the ‘cherry-on-top’ for this crowd pleasing line-up.
“We are excited to be hosting these hilarious entertainers who have made such terrific names for themselves in the entertainment industry,” added Sibongile.
