The Venue, the place to be
The much anticipated entertainment venue at The Ridge, called The Venue, opened its doors.
On Friday, August 29 The Venue was officially declared open.
And the first to grace the stage was none other than the hilarious comedian, Trevor Noah and his ‘funny’ friends Dillan Oliphant, Dusty Rich, Loyiso Madinga (LoyMad), Robby Collins and Eugene Khoza.
Among the selected guests that experienced this milestone with The Ridge Casino was Cllr Salome Sithole, Executive Mayor of Emalahleni.
Cllr Sithole complimented The Ridge for their involvement in the community and added that The Ridge plays a huge role in the economy of the municipality.
She emphasised that partnerships such as the municipality and The Ridge is one of the core strengths of the sustainability of the municipality.
“Tsogo Sun’s goal is to ensure that every person who visits any of our entertainment destinations at any time has an experience to remember,” said Mr Sizwe Jantjies (Tsogo Sun’s Group Events and Entertainment Manager).
To end of the formal proceedings, Mr Solly Mataboge (Director of Operations and The Ridge Casino General Manager) thanked the staff who put in hours of work to make this dream of local entertainment venue a reality.
The Venue is an 800m² dome that seats 1 200 people. It is ideal for shows, year end functions, expos, exhibitions, private parties, music concerts, matric farewells and corporate conferences. It offers a huge stage that can be changed according to the client’s needs. The stage at its maximum is 10 by 8 metres. There is state of the art audio and visual equipment.
The Venue connects seamlessly with the casino complex, giving guests easy and convenient access to other facilities like movies, Ten Pin Bowling, Magic Company, Putt Putt and Highveld Mall. There are 24 hour security services on the complex. In accordance with safety procedures there are six emergency exits to allow quick and safe evacuation. The Venue is accessible for the disabled.
It has over 500 parking bays.
The Venue’s setup is very flexible as it can be divided to cater for smaller events.
