When it comes to stubborn stains in the home, nothing is more eco-friendly and easier than using lemon juice. The citric acid in lemons helps break down a variety of hard-to-remove stains, such as hard water stains, limescale and soap scum. As these deposits build in taps and around fittings in a shower or bathtub, they become rock hard, so hard that even scrubbing won’t remove them. But lemon juice will.

These parts were placed in a tub of concentrated lemon juice and left overnight to soak. The citric acid in lemon juice slowly breaks down the limescale. The following morning we used a normal kitchen scourer and some baking soda to gently remove any remaining limescale.
