The brothers Matthew and Julian Andrew, both learners from Hoërskool Generaal Hertzog took part in the Inter Provincial Gala.
Matthew swam open 100 metre backstroke, took four seconds off his time and finished in fifth place.
In the open 100 metre breaststroke he came third and in the u.15 and 16, 200 metre mixed medley relay he came first and in the u.15 and 16 men’s 200 metre freestyle relay, he swam into second place.
Julian that also took part in the same Gala as his brother, swam for the u.14 boy’s 100 metre backstroke and took two seconds off his time, came first and broke the record.
Not only did he brake the record in backstroke, but came second in the 100 metre freestyle and broke another record.
Julian also came third in the 200 metre individual medley and in both the u.13 and 14 men’s 200 metre freestyle relay and mixed medley relays took first place.
The Mpumalanga team won the Inter Provincial Gala.
