Citylads held to a draw by VOC United

Witbank Citylads were held to a draw by VOC United.

The teams played to a 1-1 draw at the Lynnville Stadium.

The ABC Motsepe League match was played on Saturday, November 16. VOC were the first to register a goal in the first half while Citylads were the attacking team.

VOC Thabiso Ngwaba nearly scored when faced with the keeper.

Citylads keeper Lwando Donklan did a good job when he saved a shot.

Play had to be stopped as both keepers were injured and had to be attended to.

Citylads Mduduzi Ndlovu and Seluleko Msibi nearly scored after a good build up near the goal area.

VOC Manqoba Luvuno and Charles Shabalala both had their shots saved by Lwando.

Shabalala was in the picture when he dribbles past his way and was bought down and earned himself a penalty and Thabiso Mashabane scored to make it 1-0.

Within minutes Citylads responded accordingly when Dhludhlu scored their equalising goal to make it 1-1 in the first half.

In the second half Citylads failed to take home ground advantage in their favour as they attack from all angles.

Citylads brought in Sanele Khanyile and Sipha Hlubi as substitutes but it was all in vain as VOC pressed hard and Njabulo Ngema played his heart out to defend and attack at the same time.

Both teams tried but failed to register a winning goal.

Both had a fair chance to wrap the match in their favour but failed and the score remained at 1-1 at the end of the match.
