Sometimes football can be cruel; Sports will have to pick the pieces and march on

Witbank Spurs had a rude awakening welcome in the ABC Motsepe League when they were beaten 4-0 by Bakone.

Spurs now known as BTM Sports FC were playing their first game after being relegated from the Gladafrica C’Ship last season.

The game was played at the Lynnville Stadium on Saturday, September 7.

Bakone well all over Sports from the first whistle which resulting in them scoring their first goal in the first minute after a corner kick.

While Sports were trying to settle down, Bakone were attacking taking advantage of Sports who were trying to regroup.

Bakone nearly scored their second goal after a breakthrough but the move did not yield any positive results.

Sports nearly scored after a place-kick shot was blocked.

Bakone 1-0 led at half time.

Like in the first half Bakone scored their second goal from a place-kick in the first few minutes of the second half to make it 2-0.

Spurs were forced to use all their three substitutes to prevent a strong tide from Bakone, but it did not stop them from scoring two more goals.

Sports tried their best but their best was not enough.

The game ended at 4-0 with no respond from Sports. Sports still have a lot to do to get players who can match the other teams in the league, they need to do that now while still early to prevent further going down the ‘drain.’
