Shania-Lee ranked 10th in the world

She is one of ‘The best young female cricketers’

Shania-Lee Swart has been ranked 10th in the world according to All Out Cricket which is a United Kingdom based website and magazine who brought out an article about ‘The best young female cricketers’.

With her impressive sporting CV and the way social media was buzzing last year with her outstanding results on the cricket field it’s no wonder that she has been ranked 10th.

“Ai my child, this is super awesome. 10th in the world, well done,” said Mina Swart, Shania-Lee’s mother.

Last year in her 50 over match against South West District she scored 289 runs from 182 balls hitting forty-four 4’s and seven 6’s. To add to that in her T20 match against Eastern Gauteng she scored 160* (not out) off 86 balls hitting eighteen 4’s and twelve 6’s.

Her total score was 169 with the other nine runs coming from extras.

2016 was definitely a good year for her in that she was selected to play for the u.19 SA cricket schools team among other great achievements.

Shania- Lee is not only good on the cricket field but in fact any other sport. She has won school competitions in javelin, discus and shot-put and represented South Africa in hockey at age-group levels. She excelled in primary school at Laerskool Kragbron and is continuing to excel at Hoër Tegniese Skool.

But her future in cricket beckons, a week prior to her astonishing lone-hand effort; she smashed a brutal 289 out of a total of 352 in a 50-over match.

Hilton Moreeng, South Africa’s head coach, watched that performance and she has since been selected for South Africa u.19’s.
