Loskop Marathon awaits Eskom athletic club
Paul Bester and Org Weyers will be competing in their 25th Loskop Ultra Marathon
Six runners from Eskom Athletic Club will be taking on the Loskop Marathon again and many of them have done many, many kilometres on this road before.
The Forever Resorts Loskop Marathon Series is presented by the Middelburg Marathon Club. This race remains one of the best organised events on the South African running calendar and hosts thousands of runners from all over the world, it’s also a Comrades Marathon qualify.
The 50km race will start at 06:00 in Middelburg on Saturday, April 22 and runners will make their way all the way to Loskop resort. The 21km race will start at 06:30 and these runners will start outside Loskop Dam Nature Reserve at the Dam wall Complex.
Three of the runners will be competing in their 10th Loskop 21km Wild Challenge race and they are Johanita Bester, Hennie Lourens and Adrie Velthuizen.
Paul Bester and Org Weyers will be competing in their 25th Loskop Ultra Marathon. Someone that could easily run this race with his eyes closed is Oosie Oosthuizen who will be doing his 30th Loskop Ultra Marathon.
“What a huge privilege it is as the President of this athletics club in Mpumalanga to be able to run this race. Loskop is one of the top races in Mpumalanga on the road running calendar. I want to run this race for years to come and I want to be that person to have run this race the most times with Gods will and power. I am not as fit this year but I am ready for the challenge” said Paul.
