Witbank Spurs will be back in action this weekend after three weeks of not playing official matches due to the FIFA calendar and Nedbank cup competition respectively.

The boys in orange will be playing away against Highlands Park FC in Thembisa, Makhulong with kickoff at 15:00.

“We are obviously a bit cautious going to the game especially with match officials, we all saw what happened against Amazulu. I don’t need to repeat the referee was the man of the match on the day, anyway that’s water under the bridge we need to see how we go past this one,” said Freddy Mapulane, Spurs liaison.

He went on to promise fans that the boys are ready and looking forward to this game and aim to collect maximum points.

“With the quality of players we have I have no doubt in my mind that will get all three points,” he said.

And in bad news, centre back no.33, Thabo Makhele fractured his fibula and faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after he was doing his duty for u.23 side in Brazil. Another player set to undergo his fitness test is Spurs’ first choice keeper Zama Dhlamini who dislocated his index finger in the match against Amazulu.

“Other than that the team is ok and ready to fight,” he continues.

It was later confirmed that Zama has healed fully and will be back on the pitch this coming Saturday.
Spurs request all their supporters who would like to accompany the team to Makhulong on Saturday to please contact George Khumalo on 076 949 4275 to book seats.
