Witbank Spurs remain second on the National First Division log after their weekend away win.

Witbank Spurs remain second on the National First Division log after their weekend away win.

Witbank Spurs dominated in their match against Cape Town All Stars at Athlone Stadium on March 12.
A 59th minute goal by Peter Mubayiwa lead to the team’s victory over the costal team. All Stars piled on the pressure looking to equalise, but Spurs players put on great form and held their lines well, not giving All Stars the means or opportunity to draw.

“This was a difficult game I must say but I am happy with the three points that’s what we came for, the boys showed some good organisation especially in the defence well done to the boys,” said Freddy Mapulane, Spurs liaison.

Witbank Spurs will be defending home ground this weekend against Amazulu who are currently seventh on the log with 33 points.

“I know they will come out guns blazing after they lost their home game against Baroka, but our coach has got a plan, we request all the Siyavutha fans to come in their numbers and support the boys,” said Freddy.

The match will be played at Puma Stadium on Saturday March 19 with kickoff at 15:30. Entry is R20 per adult and R10 for parking, students able to produce their student cards will enter for free.

Witbank Spurs would like to offer their condolences to our Former PRO Bheki Sindane who lost his sister over the weekend after a short illness, condolences to him and to the Sindane Family.
