Aces drawn at home against Sundowns

Black Aces have a tough home quarter final against Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup.

This came after Aces beat Jomo Cosmos 1-0 through a goal scored by Aubrey Ngoma during their game played at Mbombela on Saturday, March 21.

Man-of-match Ngoma scored in the sixth minute in the victory game over an enthusiastic Cosmos in a Nedbank last 16 match.
The on-loan player from Orlando Pirates finished superbly, his fifth of the season, from an acute angle that gave keeper Buti Khoza no chance.
Prior to the kickoff, players from both teams paid their last respects to Minister Collins Chabane, JB Marks and football legend Steve ‘Kalamazoo’ Mokone.

Aces, whose primary focus is on the remaining six league fixtures, and given that this was the boys’ fifth game in 14 days, gave starts to Esau Mtsweni, Dino Ndlovu, Roger da Costa and Clifford Ngobeni while resting Okonkwo, Ndoro, Ngalo and Edwin Gyimah.
Aces were drawn in the third Nedbank Cup quarters finals at a function held at Southgate Shopping Centre on Monday, March 23.
With Aces eyeing their league run-in of six matches, AmaZayoni will get an early dress rehearsal when they host Sundowns in Mbombela.
The full draw: Black Leopards vs Vasco da Gama; Supersport vs Golden Arrows; Ajax Cape Town vs Bidvest Wits and Black Aces vs Mamelodi Sundowns.

Games are scheduled to be played over weekend of April 11 and 12. Professional Soccer League (PSL) will confirm these but early indications are that Aces will play at 15:00 on Sunday, April 12 as the stadium is hosting a rugby game on the 11th.
