Witbank Uniswim swimmers compete at provincials
Recently the 2014 Mpumalanga Swimming Championship took place in Nelspruit.
This is the season’s premier gala for Mpumalanga and is held over the course of three days from November 28 to 30.
More than 300 top swimmers from all over Mpumalanga, Mozambique, Limpopo and even Tuks Swimming Club, competed for top positions in the province. This annual event also serves as a stepping stone for young talent seeking future National Level opportunities.
Uniswim Middelburg/Witbank had a total of 13 swimmers who competed and brought home no less than 36 medals, 11 gold, 15 silver and 10 bronze. Swimmers train very hard for a premier event like this and everyone was rewarded with swimming their own personal best times for the season.
Another achievement is that for the first time in decades, Nkangala swimming is hosting two official galas in Middelburg. The gala dates are February 20 to 21. All swimmers are welcome. Entries can be sent to uniswim.midwit@gmail.com.
