Rain stopped Spurs game

What was supposed to be a very interesting match between Witbank Spurs and Vasco da Gama ended in a 2-2 draw and was later abandoned.

The game was played at Puma Rugby Stadium on Saturday, November 29.
Spurs were on the attack in the first few minutes of the game and they showed intent and purpose. Vasco responded with a high shot and they scored their first goal after a quick pass in the 18 area. Vasco were the better team as they raided Spurs danger zone with shots coming from all directions.

Spurs caught Vasco on the break but Spurs captain Sibusiso Mbonani’s shot was saved by the keeper. Spurs defender Humphrey Khoza scored a classic goal via a header after a corner kick to make the score sheet 1-1. Spurs players were spraying passes to counter Vasco.
In the second half it was evident that the match could be stopped because of threatening rain. Both teams played a very fast game and ended scoring a goal each before the skies opened up and the referee stopped the game at 2-2.
