Victor Santela is well on his way to recovery after a dislocated fracture.

On Saturday, September 13 Hoërskool Patriot hosted a 7s rugby tournament. During the match between Uplands College and Secunda, Victor was the victim of a sports injury.

He suffered from a dislocated fracture to his tibia and fibia (an ankle break).
Paramedics and first aid members on standby tended to Victor with utmost haste before he was transported to Life Cosmos Hospital, where he was stabilised and then transferred to Mediclinic Nelspruit.

Victor’s fractured dislocation was set back in place on Monday, September 15 and he started with mobilisation the following day. Victor is expected to be discharged from hospital by Friday.

According to Mr Vink Marais, Hoërskool Patriot’s headmaster, there were a total of three serious injuries, including another dislocation and a concussion.
“We want to thank the paramedics from Langamed Emergency Management Services and first aid members from ADS, for their excellent service at the tournament and we wish the three injured boys a swift recovery so that they may return to their sport they love,” said Marais.
