Spurs to visit Thanda for their first game

The team would be playing their first game of the season away to Thanda Royal Zulu in Richards Bay.

The game will be played on Saturday, August 23.

“The team’s main objective still remains the same, which is to acquire PSL status come end of the season. The pre-season went according to plan and it included a week away to Zonderwater Training Centre in Cullinan. The technical team is happy with the attitude and physic of the squad going into this game.

Despite losing a number of players which include Ralph Matema, Deco Maela, Dumi Tau, Wiseman Maluleke, Sici Shelembe and Sifiso Nzimande, we have managed to recruit a number of good players during our trials projects.

“The new players include a local boy Bongane ‘Chappies’ Mathebula an u.20 international, Sipho Pooe, Mduduzi Sibeko, Gift Madigwa and we are in the process of finalising a deal with a Zimbabwean striker and a central defender from Orlando Pirates,” said George Khumalo, Spurs PRO.

He also assured team supporters the journey starts now and they promised to do everything possible for keeping smiles on their faces after each game. He said the players are aware of the task, which lies ahead, and have promised to die with their boots on in realising this dream.
