Peter Moyo joins AmaZaizai

Mpumalanga Black Aces reported recently that they have signed up Peter Moyo of Zimbabwe.

Fresh from putting pen to paper on his long-term transfer to Black Aces, Zimbabwean ace midfielder Peter Moyo says he cannot wait to play with his new team mates at AmaZayoni once the 2014/15 Absa Premiership season gets underway.

The deal for the 26-year-old Moyo to move from Zimbabwean giants Highlanders FC was struck back on May 30.

‘Rio’, as he is affectionately called in his native country, joined up with his new AmaZayoni teammates shortly before June 23 when the team regrouped for season training.

“Right from the first contact I had with Mpumalanga Black Aces, I was very happy,” Moyo shared his excitement from his homeland in Zimbabwe for the first time since the announced last month.

“They are a great club with a long history and fantastic plans. They have wonderful infrastructure and a lot of ambition. This is a new stage in my life and I cannot wait to play for my new club so I can show what I can do. I am impatient to play alongside my new team mates, my Zimbabwe compatriots for sure, but also others as well,” said Moyo.

Moyo will not be short of homeland comforts at AmaZayoni where fellow Zimbabweans Tendai Ndoro, Method Mwanjale and Energy Murambandoro will be sure to extend him a warm welcome and help him acclimatise to South African way of doings things and some few tips on the competitiveness of the Absa Premiership.

“The fact that there are numerous Zimbabweans already at Black Aces will be a great help, there is no doubt about that. There are great players but also great professionals and friends. My wish is to utilise their advice to help Black Aces achieve good results. I think the expectations from the fans will be even much higher for this coming seasons considering that the team has just finished in the lucrative MTN8 in their first season back in the top flight,” added Moyo.

“Rio, a Highlanders FC fan favourite, was a one of the stars that shone brightly during the CHAN tournament, leading to the Zimbabwean midfield with aplomb on their way to succumbing to Libya in the semi-finals stage. He is a full international and has amassed 14 caps for the Warriors so far. His application is unbelievable, he is technically gifted and will definitely bolster the AmaZayoni midfield for the upcoming season,” added a statement from the club.
