Aces injury

Mpumalanga Black Aces have been involved in various friendly matches.

since returning from the break and report minor injuries for Nato, Masina and Hendricks
Aces website reported on Tuesday, January 28 that the many friendly matches played since returning from the festive break, are primarily aimed at ensuring the players get back up to full match fitness, before the crunch encounter against Moroka Swallows next Wednesday (February 5).

“All our players returned injury free, but the practice matches have taken their toll on a few players. Lauren Tate, the Aces physio provided the latest update from the medical team regarding the condition of the squad.”

Omar Hendricks: Omar has damaged his two ankle ligaments whilst playing in one of the friendly matches this past week. He will go back to the doctor in a week’s time for reassessment to determine the extent of his injury. The medical team will be in a better position to provide exact details on his injury, once the player has seen the doctors.

Ofentse Nato: “Size 10” twisted his ankle during the four-team tournament on Saturday in Rustenburg featuring home team Platinum Stars, Bidvest Wits and University of Pretoria.

He sprained his ankle during the second game of the tournament against AmaTuks and is doing light training and should be back in seven or ten days.

Dennis Masina: “Yuki” injured his calf in training this week. He will be monitored over the next 48 hours and is scheduled to see the doctor on Thursday.

Aces today played another friendly against Fabian McCarthy’s “All Stars XL” winning both games 1-0. Ndoro was on target in the first match while Okonkwo scored in the second game.

What is pleasing to the technical team is that Mabhudi Khenyeza, Clifford Ngobeni, Abia Nale, Tshidiso Tukane and Thabang Rooi all took part in today’s matches showing no ill effects from their previous injuries. As Aces gear up for the Swallows match, Barker took his entire technical team to watch the Orlando Pirates match against Ajax on Monday night.
