Brett second in Malle Moto Class

eMalahleni’s local Dakar Rally rider has completed this years Dakar Rally and has done exceptionally well.

On Saturday, January 18 Brett Cummings finished the Dakar Rally he was completely exhausted, but he enjoyed every moment of the rally.

He finished in the Top 30 and came second in the Malle Moto Class.
“The biggest thing that gets to you is the lack of sleep, I tried various routines to get by. Get something to eat then start working on the bike once again,” said Brett.
“I am really happy with my achievements,” he added.

Stage 13 was a nail biting stage for Brett; he still managed to help another rider whose chain had broken.

The 35th running of the race has come to and end in Valparaiso, Chile. Competitors have travelled more than 8,000 km during their journey. They travel via motorcycle, quad bike, car, or truck over extreme terrain in three countries in South America.

Competitors and support crews come from more than 50 countries to challenge their mechanical, driving, and orienteering skills. The race kicked off in Rosario, Argentina on January 5.
