Taxi associations from different areas organised themselves a soccer tournament.
The tournament was played at the Lynnville Stadium on Sunday, May 19.
In the earlier match, in the first semi-final Lebombo Taxi Association from Malelane beat United Long Distance Taxi Association 3-2 and in the second semi-final Top Stars Taxi Association from Nelspruit beat Local Taxi Association (LOTA) 2-1.
In the final match Top Stars played Lebombo, from the onset Top Stars showed that they mean business.
They had a shot at goal but the shot was saved. Lebombo had their share to attack and their shot went over the bar. Top Stars had a place-kick which went over the bar as well.
Top Stars scored their first goal after Lebombo failed to handle the ball for the striker to just tap an easy goal.
Lebombo were also on the attack looking for an equaliser, in one of the attempts a corner-kick was saved by the Top Stars goalkeeper.
Lebombo were awarded a penalty to set the teams on equal footing to make it 1-1. After equalising, Lebombo took the game to Top Stars and they were forced to defend. Top Stars had a corner-kick but was well defended.
As the sun has already set and with the poor lighting at the Lynnville Stadium the game was forced to play in the dark.
Top Stars scored their second goal to make the match not reachable by Lebombo.
Top Stars place-kick and were now in control of the match and seal and won the match to be declared the winners of the taxi soccer tournament.
